Introduction
Documentary that closely follows the daily life of World-Renowned children’s literature author Eiko KADONO over a period of four years. Eiko KADONO is the third Japanese author to win the International Hans Christian Andersen Award for Writing, and is one of Japanese leading children’s book writer. Her masterpiece “Kiki’s Delivery Service" was made into an animated film by Hayao MIYAZAKI and remains immensely popular. “Kiki’s Delivery Service" is published in 16 countries!
She is 88 years old. At her home in Kamakura, surrounded by "strawberry-colored" walls and bookshelves of her own choosing, her trademark is her colorful fashion and unique glasses.
On the other hand, she lost her mother at the age of 5 and experienced war. She moved to Brazil at the age of 24 after her marriage, and made her debut as a writer at the age of 34. While leading a tumultuous and eventful life, she has overcome many hardships with his natural sense of adventure and curiosity.
