Introduction

Several years in the future, at the North Fuji practice range of Japan's Ground Self Defense Force, tests in coordination with the National Space Development Agency of Japan on a top-secret artificial magnetic-shield generator are under way when an error by the officer in command on the site, 2nd Lieutenant Kanzaki Rei (SUZUKI Kyoka) causes a massive explosion. The 3rd Combined Unit, participating in the exercise in full battle dress under the command of Colonel Matoba Takeshi (KAGA Takeshi), disappears suddenly from the field and is lost.
Confusion reigns at the headquarters of the Land Self Defense Force. To maintain secrecy, however, the facts of the accident are covered up, and darkness falls over the entire episode.
