Introduction

Inspired by the Fatal Frame video game series chockfull of the essential elements of Japanese horror: a desolate Japanese-style house, wooden floor hallway and Japanese doll. Its intensified use of these fundamental fear factors of Japanese horror has helped the game amass 1.3 million copies in sales. Based on the original novel by Eiji Otsuka, a folklorist famous for The Kurosagi Corse Delivery Service and MPD Psycho, it is now a motion picture in a new setting – a boarding school deep in the mountains.
