Introduction
Two sisters live together in Nihonbashi in the 1850s. The elder Oshizu is outgoing and personable while the younger Otaka is plucky and clever. When Otaka receives a marriage proposal from Tomokichi, she rejects him partly out of concern for her unmarried elder sister.
